April 12, 1995 As a boy, Robert Ballard snorkeled in Mission Bay and body surfed at Pacific Beach. As a deep-sea scientist, he led the expedition that discovered the Titanic in 1985. And as an author, he returned to San Diego when his book, ‘The Discovery of the Titanic’ was released in 1995. Pat Gaffey reports.
