Surveillance video captured a thief taking off with a historic plaque earlier this month from Mission San Diego in Grantville. The mission’s pastor, Father Peter McGuine, made a public plea for help to find the stolen piece of San Diego history. “We had some vandalism at the Mission here on on April 4. Around one o'clock in the morning, an individual came by and stole one of the commemorative plaques that we have here for the public to see. It took them about three minutes just to take it off the wall and walk away,” said McGuine.
