If you missed one of the gaudiest cars on wheels, here’s another look at it…the multi-thousand-dollar Cadillac custom built for singer Elvis Presley. It was on display at Mission Valley Center. This is one of two telephones Elvis had installed. You’ll have to figure out why two. In his traveling dressing room the hip swinging star could put on his face while listening to the radio…AM or FM. Or, if that entertainment didn’t please, a TV set for the back seat driver. Still more entertainment was available with a record player and stacks of records, Presley, no doubt. Elvis is said to have paid 35 thousand for the car and has turned down offers exceeding 100-thousand dollars.
