March 24, 1963 Centaur Moved A giant, flight-equipped Centaur space vehicle was trucked from the Astronautics plant on Kearny Mesa to Lindbergh Field where it was placed aboard an Air Force plane for transfer to Cape Canaveral. Pedestrians and motorists stared as the huge space craft moved along the highway. As it was being prepared for loading aboard the C-133, Grant L. Hansen, Centaur program manager explained what this vehicle will do.
