August 13, 1993 In August 1993 CBS 8 photojournalist Scott Hall got to play tourist for the day. He hopped aboard the Old Town Trolley bus and photographed all the beautiful landmarks on the tour. The informative tour guide gave a history lesson about Old Town, the Star of India, Gaslamp Quarter, Horton Plaza, Coronado and its crown jewel The Hotel del. Room rates started at $149 a night—pricey then—not so much now in 2022. Our tour ends in Balboa Park and the California Tower. A great way to see San Diego for tourists and locals alike.
