When Elisa Giudice’s mother passed away in 2018, she relied on the community for support. Now the Olympia artist is giving back to the community in the way she knows best, with a piece of art. “That is my hope,” Giudice said. "That people, if they’re going through something really difficult, they can see this and know they can lean on the collective strength of the community.” Her mural, painted this spring and summer on the side of the Plum Street YMCA, has been selected for an Arts Walk Innovation Award.
