From the rubble of an outdated, crumbling mental health center in downtown Everett will soon rise a facility many believe will help transform the city, getting people with drug and behavioral issues off the streets and into the help they need. "It can be daunting to ask for help. We want to make sure there are no extra barriers in the way. We want people to feel like this is a safe place, that this is a welcoming place," says Compass Health Chief Operating Officer Stacey Alles. The 72,000-square-foot building replaces a 103-year-old facility that was designed as a nursing home.
