Flights out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Friday are being canceled ahead of a winter storm that is expected to cause travel issues throughout western Washington. As of 10:15 a.m., there had only been five arrivals and three departures from the airport, airport officials said, on what was anticipated to be one of the biggest travel periods of the year. More than 500 flights were canceled by 10:30 a.m. Friday and more than 130 flights have been delayed, according to FlightAware, a flight tracking website. Sea-Tac is running limited operations with one runway open following a full ground stop.
