November 30, 1984 It was homecoming for superstar Raquel Welch when she visited News 8--where she worked in 1960--and her alma mater La Jolla High School. She was the weather anchor for Sun Up San Diego for about six months before Hollywood came calling. She told Susan Lichtman that she had to wake up at 4 am, was paid about $7.50 an hour, and it was diabolical, she joked. Sorry Raquel--we've boasted for years that you worked here.
