An American Airlines plane caught fire while taxiing to a gate at Denver International Airport Thursday evening.
The flight, AA1006, was scheduled from Colorado Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth. The plane left the Colorado Springs airport at 4:37 p.m. before being diverted to Denver, according to FlightAware.
An American Airlines spokesperson said the plane, a Boeing 737-800, "experienced an engine-related issue."
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane landed at DIA at around 5:15 p.m. after the crew reported engine vibrations. An engine caught fire after landing, while taxiing to the gate.
