On March 31, 1995, just hours after shooting Selena Quintanilla to death, Yolanda Saldívar barricaded herself inside a red pickup truck in a Corpus Christi parking lot. Holding a gun to her head, she engaged in a 9-hour standoff with police, refusing to surrender. Negotiators worked to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution as the world mourned the sudden loss of the beloved Tejano star.
