The Buc-ee's opened in 2003 and closed on June 10. A brand new travel center that replaced it wasn't damaged by the fire. The site of the former Buc-ee's gas station in Luling caught fire Monday morning, the Caldwell County Office of Emergency Management said. Buc-ee's opened a brand new location next door to the original gas station just three weeks ago, and since then, crews have been doing demolition at the old site. It was not immediately clear whether the demolition process led to the fire, according to a report from the Gonzales Inquirer.
