April 15 on The Story: Proponents of stricter regulations on firearms had reason to cheer last month, when the Oregon Court of Appeals ruled that Measure 114, narrowly passed by voters back in 2022, was allowable under the state constitution — overturning the decision of a Harney County judge that has kept the measure from ever taking effect. But appeals of the measure at both the state and federal level continue, and in the meantime Democratic lawmakers in the legislature are moving to both prepare for the possibility that it will actually take effect, and to institute some additional regulations on gun sales. We'll walk you through what they're proposing.
