March 28 on The Story: Across the state of Oregon, some of the state's most iconic fish species are born in dozens of waterways — some well-known and often traveled, and others tucked away in places not often encountered. The Oregon Department of State Lands just updated its map of fish habitats, adding more than 100 miles of streams and creeks in the state which are home to sensitive, threatened or endangered fish. For many people, protecting those habitats is an essential part of preserving Oregon's environment for both current and future generations.
