Oct. 3 on The Story: Yesterday, we kicked off our political ad fact-checking season with one targeting Joe Kent, the Republican running for Washington's 3rd Congressional District. Now we're taking a look at one against his opponent, Democratic Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. She narrowly beat Kent two years ago in something of an upset, becoming the first Democrat to hold the seat in over a decade. Since heading to Congress, Gluesenkamp Perez has positioned herself as a moderate, often on the right flank of her own party. In this rematch with Kent, she's trying to court moderate Republicans and third-party voters who aren't thrilled with former President Donald Trump, who has endorsed Kent.
