While it's a dense subject, those outcomes will have a big impact on taxpayers — particularly if Oregon's unique kicker law comes into play. Some major employers in the state are taking a beating right now, but unemployment is low. At the same time, it's pretty difficult to find a new job in certain sectors. But the big news is that, after adopting an "overly pessimistic" outlook on tax revenues, Oregon economists say things are looking surprisingly strong, setting up a potential kicker rebate for taxpayers in 2026.
