July 24 on The Story: With climate change progressing, the Pacific Northwest is "woefully behind" when it comes to building the infrastructure needed to keep up with the growing demand for electricity.
Though the PNW hasn't had rolling blackouts yet, it came very, very close this year — and large-scale solutions remain years away. Oregon, Washington and tribal leaders, along with utility companies and U.S. Department of Energy officials, came together for a summit in Seattle to discuss what needs to be done.
