Description
A trailer carrying propane tanks caught on fire on I-5 in North Portland Tuesday morning. The fire severely damaged the road, requiring emergency repairs, the Oregon Department of Transportation said. The northbound lanes remain closed through Tuesday, June 18, and there is no estimate as to when they'll reopen.

A trailer with about 120 propane tanks caught fire near the Swan Island exit, on the northbound side of the freeway, according to Portland Fire & Rescue. There was no vehicle or tractor attached to the trailer when firefighters arrived on scene, Rick Graves with Portland Fire said. He added that Portland Fire has had no contact with the driver.
