Feb. 16 on The Story: This week, we've been featuring stories from throughout the Pacific Northwest about the issue of shrinking snowpack. Tonight we're headed to our own backyard, the Oregon Cascades, where the year-over-year decline in snowpack and the dwindling of glaciers has become an increasing problem for imperiled salmon. The iconic fish species face no shortage of challenges, but snowpack and its impact on water levels could be among the largest existential threats — and perhaps the most difficult to address.
