Description
Jan. 8 on The Story: We've reported previously on Jessica Bates, a single mother of five living in eastern Oregon who sued the state over its foster care policies, arguing that they violated her First Amendment rights. Bates, a Christian, refused to comply with rules that require foster parents to support kids with LGBTQ+ identities. We took a closer look at the arguments being made for and against the proposed federal policy.
