Nov. 29 on The Story: For months now, KGW investigative reporter Evan Watson has been digging into the slow response times of Multnomah County ambulance provider AMR. During that time, AMR has denied interview requests, preferring to issue emailed, often brief statements. But earlier this month, Multnomah County leaders decided they have had enough, choosing to fine the company over a half-million dollars for just a single month of late arrivals. Now the ambulance company wants to go on the record in an on-camera interview to tell their perspective on the problem, something that they're calling a crisis in emergency medical services.
