Description
Nov. 17 on The Story: We wrap up our weeklong coverage of the groundwater contamination crisis in northern Morrow and Umatilla Counties. All this week we've looked at the residents impacted by polluted well water, the farming and food production industries that create the contaminants, the lackluster regulatory environment that has allowed the problem to get steadily worse for decades, and efforts underway in recent years to finally solve the crisis. Tonight, we delve into the comments we've received all week and try to answer some additional questions that viewers raised, such as whether consumers should be concerned about the pollution negatively impacting the vegetables grown and exported from the region.
