Oct. 24 on The Story: As of right now, the Portland Police Bureau remains the only large city police department in the U.S. without full implementation of body-worn cameras. But there has been pretty significant movement on that front this year. After reaching a deal with the police union in April, Portland started a 60-day trial run of bodycams for some of the police bureau's officers. Last week, the program wrapped — and overall, everyone seems happy. That said, it could be almost a year before the city is ready to do a full rollout of bodycams. Here's everything we know about the pilot program and the next steps for the months ahead.
