Description
Oct. 20 on The Story: In about two years from now, drivers can expect to start seeing overhead tolling cameras as they drive across the Interstate Bridge between Portland and Vancouver. A few months after that, according to the project organizers, those cameras will go live — bringing tolls to the crossing for the first time since the 1960s. That's because construction on the replacement bridge is expected to start by late 2025 or early 2026, and tolling is a key part of covering at least $1 billion that organizers have yet to source for the massive project's $6 billion price tag.
