Oct. 5 on The Story: Last week, videos showing a student attacking other kids at Hazelbrook Middle School went viral online and were shared by figures with national reach. It took off in conservative spaces, with speculation that the attacking student in question was transgender. Since then, Hazelbrook has dealt with bomb threats, an evacuation and missed school days, and two related arrests. And the school continues to deal with both the very real disciplinary issues that need to be addressed, plus the matter of finding themselves used as ammunition in a national culture war.
