Description
Sept. 11 on The Story: We've talked a fair amount about Multnomah County's spending on homelessness of late: the blistering audit of the Joint Office of Homeless Services in late August, the county's underspending of funds meant for homeless services, the fact that tax dollars keep coming in higher than expected, and the county's will-they-won't-they relationship with the Bybee Lakes Hope Center. But the plot keeps on thickening. Most recently, the chair of an advisory oversight committee meant to review the joint office budget penned an op-ed accusing the county of giving them the cold shoulder — dragging their feet in response to questions or refusing to answer those questions altogether.
