May 24, 2023 on The Story: Earlier this month, the World Health Organization ended its declaration of a pandemic emergency for COVID-19. But for more than 15 million Americans and about 244,000 Oregonians, symptoms caused by COVID linger on. These are the long-haulers. And for some of them, it's no longer possible to do the activities that they loved to do — in some cases, it's impossible to hold a job like they did before. The Story spoke with two of these long-haulers, as well as the doctors who are trying to treat them and perhaps find a larger solution for this mysterious ailment.
