A winter storm that dropped 11 inches of snow on Portland, the second snowiest day on record, created a mess on the roads, closed schools, canceled flights and knocked out power for thousands. Ice and snow is still covering many roads Thursday, including highways and freeways. Many vehicles, including semis, got stuck on the roads and some people abandoned their cars.
