Feb. 1, 2023 on The Story: Looking to cash in on the federal CHIPS Act, Oregon lawmakers are seriously looking at ways to attract semiconductor manufacturers to the state. According to the experts, they'll need some huge plots of land with the right perks. Statewide, they found none — well, they maybe found two areas that could work. But securing those two will mean stepping on the toes of local farmers. And even if that works out, there are further barriers to sweetening the pot for tech companies.
