Jan. 20, 2022 on The Story: Over the summer, President Joe Biden signed the $280 billion CHIPS Act into law. It's expected to result in some significant expansions in areas of tech, particularly semiconductor manufacturing. Now the clock is ticking for Oregon lawmakers to figure out a way to court the industry and get tech companies to build here — but it's becoming clear that success would require some big sacrifices in order to "make the juice worth the squeeze," so to speak.
