Dec. 9, 2022 on The Story: Audits and investigations into voter fraud in the U.S. have found that it isn't widespread and tends not to be coordinated. On the rare occasions that it does happen, it tends to be isolated cases. An investigation by our Seattle sister station, KING, confirmed that to be the case in Washington state. However, they found that when officials do discover cases of fraud, the punishment can vary widely on a case-by-case basis. Some people get off with a warning. Others get the book thrown at them.
