Description
Crews knocked down the 656-foot-tall stack and boiler at the Boardman coal plant, Oregon's last coal-fired power plant, which closed in 2020, on Thursday morning. Explosives were placed at the base of the stack and around the boiler and were triggered within seconds of each other. In a news release, PGE said the demolition is expected to last less than a minute. They were right. The explosion happens around the 12:20 mark of the video.
