Description
Sept. 13, 2022 on The Story: Three years ago, Melissa West took her 13-year-old daughter to a Thorns game at Providence Park. While they were waiting for a ride, a man with a knife grabbed her and held her at knifepoint as police drew their weapons. The man who grabbed her was later committed to Oregon State Hospital. After watching "Uncommitted", a KGW series on the gaps in Oregon's involuntary commitment process, she's telling her story in hopes of helping change the system for the better.
