Aug. 3, 2022 on The Story: Aug. 3, 2022 on The Story: After the infamous 2020 wildfire season, Oregon passed a law to address future wildfires. Part of that law led the state to create a wildfire risk assessment map. About 80,000 homes across Oregon are in the "high or extreme" risk category, mostly in rural areas, and many of those homeowners say their insurance has skyrocketed — or they've been dropped from coverage altogether.
