Description
The driver who struck and killed a Highlands Ranch 13-year-old who was on his way to school last year was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to a traffic charge.
Ruben Morones pleaded guilty in October to careless driving resulting in death. As a result of the plea, charges of careless driving resulting in injury and disregarding a traffic signal were dismissed. On Tuesday, Morones was sentenced to one year of jail time, with approval for work release.
