Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to give a speech Wednesday afternoon to publicly concede the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump. Projections from the Associated Press and others showed Trump early Wednesday morning winning the Electoral College as a majority of votes in the remaining key states came in. Harris called President-elect Trump on Wednesday to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory, according to a senior adviser to the vice president. The aide, who declined to be identified discussing a private conversation, said Harris talked about the need for a peaceful transfer of power. Harris is expected to address supporters and the nation at Howard University in Washington D.C., her alma mater.
