Description
A 16-year-old boy is in custody and a homicide investigation is underway after a 12-year-old boy died of "apparent stab wounds" in Durango, a spokesperson for La Plata County said in a release.
The homicide happened Thursday morning at a residence on Snowy Peaks Way in the Southwest Horizon Ranch subdivision southeast of Durango, the release said. The victim was the suspect's half-brother, according to a county spokesperson. A second victim, a woman believed to be the suspect's mother, is being treated at a local hospital for injuries sustained from "a blunt object attack," the release said.
