Description
Family and friends of 18-year-old Emiliano Malpica-Medina gathered around the corner of East 58th Avenue and Holly Street Wednesday night. They came carrying blue balloons and candles to honor the young life cut short.
"Emiliano is such a spirit animal," said Karla Malpica-Medina, Emiliano's oldest sister. "Such a joyful person, full of life. He loved to dance. He was always joking around, making people laugh. He was just, I don't know, he got along with everybody. All kinds of age. Older people, younger people. Just the person he was made him special."
Police in Commerce City arrested a suspect in the hit-and-run crash that killed Emiliano.
