Description
The father of a teenage boy charged in the killing of a bar employee in downtown Denver has been arrested as an accessory to the crime.
Todd Kidd was shot while at work at Federales at 29th and Larimer streets on July 10 and died a few days later.
A 14-year-old boy was identified as the suspect in the shooting and was eventually arrested in Casper, Wyoming. 9NEWS is not naming the boy due to his age.
The boy's father, Steven Marquez, was arrested last week on charges of accessory to a crime and attempt to influence a public servant.
According to a probable cause statement for his arrest, police called Marquez and told him his son was wanted on a murder warrant. During the phone call, Marquez said he last saw his son on July 11, which was the day after the shooting but the day before Kidd died, the statement says.
