Katie Ledecky made history Wednesday night, as she defended her 1,500 freestyle title for a record-equaling eighth gold.
She now shares the record for most Olympic golds in women's swimming with Jenny Thompson, who won eight relay titles over three Olympics from 1992-2000.
Ledecky finished 10 seconds ahead of the silver medalist and beat her own Olympic record.
