Description
On Oct. 1, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) started issuing fines for drivers who cross the double solid lines of the express lanes along C-470 and Interstate 25.
For the first week of October, more than 20,000 fines have been mailed to drivers for the lane change violation, according to CDOT. Last month, CDOT reported issuing 80,000 warnings to drivers for the same violation.
The penalty for crossing the double solid lines of the express lane is $75, CDOT said. If that fine is unpaid in 20 days, however, the fine will double to $150.
