His company received millions of dollars of taxpayer money to help hurricane victims replace or rebuild their homes. DSW Homes owner Paul Judson faced allegations of fraud and improper installation at a Hillsborough County Licensing Board hearing.
A homeowner says DSW left his home filled with a laundry list of problems. It even failed county inspections. John Vargas is a Rebuild Florida recipient. We showed you back in January, how there were a slew of problems at his property. Now, dents, holes, and even doors have all been fixed after the county found the home failed inspection three different times. His certificate of occupancy was even revoked until his home could pass inspection.
The biggest problem in the initial inspection was the wood burning stove was installed incorrectly. A licensing board member noted, “that could be highly dangerous.” That’s why the contractor and owner of DSW Homes Paul Judson came before the Hillsborough County Licensing Board on Tuesday. The county inspector found it, “failed to install wood burning stove according to manufacturer’s instruction and exhibited evidence of fraud deceit or misconduct in purpose of contracting.”
