Great weather calls for great fun in downtown St. Pete.
“In comparison to other races, you get really close. You can see the drivers around town like walking around here too,” Axel Mossberg said.
The Firestone Grand Prix, which ran from Feb. 28 through March 2, served as the season opener for the IndyCar season, attracting fans not only from Florida, but from as far away as Sweden.
“I come here from Cape Coral. I come here like every year. I've been here for like eight years,” Bret Frederick said.
Some event-goers attended all three days of action-packed events, including the Mossberg's.
“Our colors kind of stick out so whenever you see someone else with bright yellow, we always see each all the Swedish people. We always see each other. We always meet up, and we talk to each other. We talk to the drivers and everything,” Albin Mossberg said.
In the sea of spectators are dozens of vendors like Craton Promotions.
