Description
Bragging rights were on the line at Middleton High School for the championship round of the 9th annual Hillsborough Alliance of Black School Educators Black History Brain Bowl.
It's a competition that helps students understand the contributions of African American culture along with important parts of history that might not always be taught in school.
“Black voices, Brown voices, all of us together make up the American Diaspora. So, we wanted to make sure that students, if they’re not getting it in the classroom, they can get it here,” Dr. Andrea Beverly with the Hillsborough Alliance of Black School Educators said.
Teams from River Hills Elementary, Mulrennan Middle School and Robinson High School all finished first in their divisions.
