The shooting happened early Tuesday afternoon, just after 12:30 p.m. in the area of E 28th Avenue and N 26th Steet.
Three people were injured, and 31-year-old Jessie Dorce was killed.
As his family mourns his loss, they're calling on the community where this happened to speak up about what they know.
"He would try his best to help anyone, so we would ask the same favor," Jessie's sister, Bernadette Young, said.
Bernadette said the shooting happened in a neighborhood where Jessie and she grew up. They still have many friends and some family in the area.
"We trust that because he loved them so much, and they loved them too, that they will say something... because he was just taken," Bernadette said.
Jessie's family said he always kept them laughing and he loved being a father.
He leaves behind a wide and two young children, a 3-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter.
