Description
Tampa's Black history is all around us, and Ashley Morrow — an 813 native — is finding a unique way of sharing it.
“Basically, you read the person or the teams their questions. If they get it right, they get the point. If they get it wrong, the points are deducted,” Morrow explained.
One side is all black and polished, while the other side shares parts of Tampa’s history. It's important information Morrow has made simple enough to fit in your hands.
Morrow was born and raised in the heart of Tampa.
“I attended Blake High School, yes. That's my alma mater. Proud Yellow Jacket,” Morrow said.
Every card serves a special purpose.
“Cards represent that cookout vibe, like there's always something you can always pull out if you need some type of form of entertainment,” Morrow said.
Although Morrow is a Tampa native, she said a lot of the information she's learned about Tampa’s Black history came from her own curiosity.
“Growing up here, what it did help me do — it helped me start to see things that I had been around all my life, and I hadn't realized I had been around it all my life,” Morrow said.
