Detectives with the St. Petersburg Police Department are looking for a man who allegedly attacked and robbed a 65-year-old woman with a knife on Monday.
The robbery happened just after 2 p.m. on Jan. 27, officers said in a news release. Surveillance video shows the woman walking near the intersection of 17th Ave. Southeast and Bay Street before the man approaches her.
Police said within seconds, the man grabbed the woman before punching her in the stomach and cutting her arm.
"He then placed her ring finger in his mouth to forcibly remove rings from her finger," officers stated in the release.
So far, the man has not been identified, but officers describe him as a 30-35-year-old man who is 5 feet 9 inches tall with a full beard and short, afro hairstyle. He was reportedly wearing a black t-shirt and black pants.
