A 23-year-old man reportedly sent sexually suggestive messages to a 16-year-old he used to teach, asked her for nudes and tried to have sex with her, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Detectives said their investigation began in January 2025 after the 16-year-old Haines City High School student reported to her mother she had been getting "sexually charged" messages from her old substitute teacher, "Mr. Chase" — aka Chase Crabb. The messages, including pictures, happened between December 2023 and December 2024 when the teen was still 15.
