Gasparilla holds a special place in many Tampa Bay families' hearts, including Devin Humbert. “I've been coming out here since I was about this high. I remember coming out to the Children's parade with my uncle,” Humbert said. It's something you grow up looking forward to, and it eventually becomes part of your heritage. “It's really fun to watch and kind of fun to pass down some of our Tampa Bay traditions — if you will — down to the next generation. It kind of reminds me of some of my childhood,” Humbert said. It's a tradition Meredith Moore said recent storms couldn't ruin. She said her family dresses up and decorates every year.
