A shooting in downtown Orlando has left at least two people dead and six others hospitalized overnight Friday, police said. A 17-year-old is accused of firing those shots.
Calls about the shooting started coming in just after 1 a.m. Friday on Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando. Minutes later, more calls of shots fired came in south of Washington Street and Orange Avenue.
According to police, a total of eight people were shot by the same shooter. Two people died as a result of the shooting. The other six people were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their wounds. Police said in a news conference Friday morning those hospitalized are "stable."
In an update, Orlando police said the two people killed were a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man.
